I created a video recap of the 5 major things I learned while starting seeds indoors for my spring 2025 garden. I really wanted to document this process because it’s fairly new for me. I’ve only done it once before a few years ago.
It didn’t work out so well that first time around because most of my seedlings got damping off disease. I have a MAJOR overwatering problem that I am finally starting to get a handle on.
This time around, things are going better but I am still learning. And sharing it all with you – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
5 Things I Learned About Starting Seeds Indoors For Spring 2025

- Use amended potting mix NOT soil
- Good air flow is essential
- Group plants based on watering needs
- Plant seeds in 4″ containers or cups to avoid potting up multiple times
- Know the needs of your seeds
