The one thing I always tell people when sofa shopping is to make sure the cushions are detached, preferably reversible with removable covers. Of course you want to make sure it’s very well made with sustainable materials.
But that 1 thing will give you endless possibilities & help you control the amount of wear & tear – cushions can be restuffed & covers cleaned.
A sofa can last a lifetime & can be given new life and a new look whenever you want, like I just did in the video below.
There are multiple vendors online that sell them for specific sofa models. Etsy, Lindakale, Comfort Works, Comfortly, Bemz are few that I looked at. Most are overseas. Also, if you have a seamstress/seamster or a designer friend with a seamstress/seamster, they can usually make custom covers.
I’m not a neutral kind of person, but I wanted to see if we’d like a little change. I think I can do it if I pop some color in here & there.
This is an easy way to breath more life into upholstered furniture sustainably and inexpensively.
