The 3rd Annual Ward Green Scholarship Recipient Is…

Hello family, friends, and neighbors!

This time of year is always so exciting. Gardens are growing, people are gathering, graduations are happening. It is an especially exciting time for us because we are blessed to announce the third annual recipient of The Ward Green Scholarship for the Arts & Sciences!

With each round, we see less quantity and significantly more quality applicants. This is very promising because our mission is to help support students who want to creatively bridge the gap between art & science in practical & sustainable ways that also help serve our communities.

The last two rounds of the Ward Green Scholarship for the Arts & Sciences have awarded a first-generation student & aspiring chef with a commitment to making “a meaningful difference in (the) community by promoting health, addressing food insecurity, celebrating cultural heritage, advocating for sustainability”; and a Design student whose mission is to help provide “access to safe, sustainable, and comfortable living spaces” to all.

This third round, we have seen so much creativity in students’ ideas in fields of study as vast as Civil Engineering to Neuroscience to Veterinary Medicine with a concentration in Psychology. The possibilities are endless for these young scholars!

After pouring over nearly 600 extremely impressive applicants, we are thrilled to announce the third recipient of The Ward Green Scholarship for the Arts & Sciences is a young lady who aspires “to design not just buildings, but experiences that shape the way people live, move, and connect.”

Jayla Harmon is a graduating senior (class of 2026) at Cypress Springs High School in Cypress, TX and plans to major in Architectural Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.

We chose Jayla as our prospective scholarship recipient because of her passion to impact the community around her through design. While we’d already chosen her as our finalist, what ultimately made the decision easier was learning that she is graduating from Cypress Springs High School in Cypress, TX.

Cy-Springs happens to be our son’s “home school”. It has received so much negative press over the years leaving the impression that the positives are few and far between. This was a wonderful opportunity to reward a CSHS Panther student for her drive and success as a young Scholar.

Congratulations to Jayla Harmon – our 2026 Ward Green Scholarship for the Arts & Sciences Award Winner!

We are a family of systems analysts running a small business which spans technology solutions, interior design, web design, & edible gardening. We also invest in & provide affordable luxury housing in underserved communities.

We created this scholarship to support underrepresented students interested in pursuing similar endeavors, whether through entrepreneurship, philanthropy, or a company with strong community values. The original plan was to start small double the scholarship award year over year until we reach $10,000 and can help multiple students per year.

Thanks to the help of generous donors we are on track to do just that. CLICK HERE to learn more about The Ward Green Scholarship for the Arts & Sciences and to become a donor.
